How to password protect a directory.

1. Login in to your control panel (cPanel) and click on the 'Password Protect Directories' icon.

2. Click on the folder you want to password protect.

3. Check the check box next to 'Directory requires a password to access via the web (you must check this to activate password protection)'

4. Enter a name in the text box next to 'Protected Resource Name (will display in browser's password mask)'

This is just the name that will displayed in the password prompt. You can enter anything you'd like. For example, Protected, Members Only, etc.

Now you should be receive a password prompt each time you attempt to access this directory via the web.
